About Us: Iris Lodge Alpacas is a picturesque farm nestled in the Jilliby / Dooralong Valley in the Central Coast Hinterland. Who can volunteer? To apply for our volunteer program, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Be 18 years and over.

• Commit to the minimum time requirements.

• Have a genuine love for animals and a passion for farm life.

• Possess good physical fitness, as some tasks may involve lifting and physical labor.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for interacting with visitors.

• Tertiary Student Work Experience only – applicants must be enrolled in a certificate/degree in veterinary medicine or animal care and have successfully completed all necessary course requirements.

Volunteer Roles and Duties: We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities, including:

• Animal Care: Assisting in the care of alpacas, llamas, horses, babydoll sheep, wiltipoll sheep, guinea fowl, chickens, and dogs.

• Tours: Assisting tour guides in hosting guided tours for farm visitors.

• General Farm Maintenance: Helping with gardening and grounds maintenance.

Time Commitment: We offer flexible hours with a weekly commitment:

• Long Term Volunteer: One 4-6 hour day per week for 3 months or more (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday).

• Tertiary Student Work Experience: 1 or 2 week block, Thursday to Monday, from 9 am to 4 pm.
